This is the newest inclusion to our website -- and for want of a better name we have called it 'Out of the Blue Trips'.

Let me explain:

We get requests from single individuals who want to join our tours --- and we have to turn a lot away as the cost for an individual to come on a tailormade excursion is obviously more per person than for a group. Along with that we get enquiries from people wanting to go into relatively unchartered areas, and then we have times when our four wheel drive vehicles are being relocated to various locations in Australia for all sorts of reasons..and finally their are places we just want to go and explore ...

For all the above reasons we are opening up this new web page so you can see what some of the 'Out of the Blue Trips ' will be in the coming year -- and you can contact us if you are interested in any of them..... either as a sole traveller - or as a small group.

Of course our Private Charters still operate year round.

OK -- here's THE trip for 2008 - and with a TAG A LONG option for the first time!!

Outback Odyssey AUGUST 6 - 11 2008.

Trip will be a 6 day four wheel drive safari starting from Katherine Northern Territory and returning to Katherine. (Katherine is 300 klm south of Darwin and transport can be arranged)

The trip will be open to discerning travellers who wish to travel with us in our vehicles AND for the first time we are offering a tag-a-long option where you can bring your own vehicle and travel with us into areas we have sole access to.

We will be heading west of Katherine into Wardaman Aboriginal Country, camping out under the stars by clear billabongs - then moving camp some days later to enter Mangarrayi Land and camp beside the emerald green Roper River in Never Never Country.

A feature of the journey will be meeting up with Aboriginal Elder Bill Harney and following him in our four wheel drives to rock art sites seldom seen by others.

Once on the Roper you will also have a chance to try fishing for the elusive barramundi and learning of bush foods and medicines.

• Wednesday August 6: Leave Katherine in the morning for Victoria River region and meet up with Aboriginal legend - Bill Harney. Visit ancient rock art sites and shelters – and camp out under the stars by clear water.
• Thursday August 7: Wake up with birds for more four wheel driving to sites and landscapes. Opportunity to swim, bushwalk, get back to the real world. Camping in same location – and spend the evening with guitar playing from Mike and didgeridoo from Bill.
• Friday August 8: Today we break camp and head back to Katherine to restock and stay overnight at All Seasons motel.
• Saturday August 9: Mid morning we leave Katherine and head for a two hour drive south through Mataranka then into Never Never country to camp out in Mangarrayi country. Overnite camping .
• Sunday August 10: Explore this amazing area by four wheel drive and on foot. Meet the local Aboriginal people and bathe in clear thermal pools. Overnight camping by the Roper River.
• Monday August 11: More Never Never - then head back to Katherine at end of day.

COST

Includes all meals (except whilst at motel) camping and equipment , guiding and royalties paid to Aboriginal groups.

Fully Guided: $2400pp travelling in our four wheel drive.

Tag-Along: $1600pp travelling in your four wheel drive.

NOTE: Greyhound run regular daily services to and from Katherine. Katherine is 300 klms south of Darwin.
